 Natural homemade Fertilizers for Plants:

Fertilizers are very important for the growth and productiveness of plants. Most fertilizers contain nitrogen, potassium, calcium, and phosphorous that are essential components for the rapid growth of plants. Fertilizers available in the market are mostly expensive.

 

 

Natural fertilizers can be made at home with very simple methods as explained below:

1. Onion Peel Fertilizer:

Onion peel fertilizer is a natural source of Potassium, Calcium, Iron, Copper, and Magnesium that are essential for the growth of plants. It increases the resistance of plants against diseases, helps in the dgrowth of roots and stems, and increases the productivity of plants.

Making:

Take onion peels of 4-5 onions in a jar and fill it with water. Cover the jar with lid and keep it for 2 days in a warm place. After 2 days, strain in a different jar. Potassium rich organic concentrate is ready to use as a fertilizer.

 

 

 

How to Use:

  1. Dilute the fertilizer in 1:2 (1 Liter fertilizer in 2 Liter water) to make 3 liters of fertilizer.
  2. Pour 50 ml (1/2 cup) of fertilizer directly to the soil.
  3. Spray on leaves through spray bottle to get better results.
  4. Repeat the process after 1 week.

2. Banana Peel Fertilizer:

Banana peel fertilizer is a rich source of Potassium and Calcium that are necessary for the growth of plants. This fertilizer increases plant immunity towards aphids, helps in root development, increases stem growth, and makes the plant more productive.

Making: 

Add 4 banana peels in 4 liters of water and mix them well. Cover the lid and place the container for 2 days in a warm place. Strain the solution in another container and use it as fertilizer.

How to Use:

  1. Dilute the fertilizer in 1:3 (1 Liter fertilizer and 3 Liter water) to make 4 Liters of fertilizer.
  2. Pour 50 ml (1/2 cup) of fertilizer directly to the soil.
  3. Spray on leaves through spray bottle to get better results.
  4. Repeat the process after 1 week.

3. Used Tea Fertilizer:

Used tea fertilizer is a rich source of nitrogen and provides healthy nutrients for the soil. It improves productivity of the plant and imposes positive effects on the roots of the plants.

Making:

Wash used tea leaves thoroughly in a strainer to remove sugar, and milk. Dry them completely and use as fertilizer.

 

How to Use:

  1. Add 1-2 spoons directly on the soil of the plant.
  2. Mix it in the compost for better productivity.
  3. Repeat the process after 1 week.
These fertilizers are rich in nutrients and increase flowers and the ratio of fruits and vegetables to plants. For best results, use them according to instructions.
